From the Desk of David Zimmerman |
As you may already know, Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (October 2012) was our last production before going on hiatus. Thank you to those that came out to any of the locations to see the show - it truly was a bitter-sweet triumph. So, what does "hiatus" mean for The Theater Company? TTC is not going away, but just taking a "beat" and not producing over the remainder of the 2012-2013 season. It has been an amazing 12 years. In that time, TTC has produced over 60 mainstage theater productions, in addition to many smaller events including: cabarets, workshops, classes, readings, open mics and the spoken word. We have seen all of our performers grow, with many of them moving on to professional careers in film, TV, and Broadway. We have raised thousands of dollars for groups like Hoboken Shelter, WomenRising, and Equity Fights Aids/Broadway Cares. We've traveled educational and mainstage productions all over New Jersey and New England. We have seen children grow into adults, and have been an integral part of the Hoboken community, as well as exposing new audiences to the excitement of live theater and helped create a theater community in Hudson County. We will keep TTC's website live as well as our Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube accounts. As news of our return becomes apparent, in whatever form that may be, we will notify you all via this e-newsletter in addition to those social media outlets. On behalf of myself, and the rest of my production and management team, thanks to all of our performers, friends and patrons for being a part of our company. This is not a goodbye, but a so-long for now. Thank you all for an incredible 12 years of theater, and I look forward to our next chapter together! Best always, |
