In Production
Originally written by Ben Jonson in 1641,
Bartholomew Fair
took place at one of London's
most popular summer fairs and brought together
the lower masses and upper classes in a
twisting, comedic knot of deceit, disguise, marriage licenses and a
puppet show.

Nearly 400 years later, Billy Mitchell adapts Mr. Jonson's great
comedy, in modern verse featuring only five performers taking on
nearly 20 characters in an under 90-minute show.
Bartholomew Fair,
NJ
owes as much to Monty Python and Carol Burnett as it does to Ben
Jonson’s original script, bringing a contemporary sensibility to the
classic comedy suitable for all ages. The summer of 2008 product
marked The Theater Company’s premiere of this new work.

behind you. Continue to not turn around.

marching mermaids & my sweet, sweet Naked Girls: every little

MARK DUNN is very excited to be returning to Bartholomew
Fair, NJ
after having such a great time with the production last
summer. Mark recently appeared as "The New York Times" in
the Strawberry One-Act Festival original short play
I Knew You'd
Say That
by John Kearns. Most recently with The Theater
Company, Mark played Jacob Marley, Fezziwig, and others (
A
Christmas Carol
), a Wickersham Brother (Seussical), Officer
Lockstock (Urinetown, the musical), and Richard (
Free to
Be…You and Me
). With the Firebone Theatre Company, Mark
had the honor of performing in a stage reading of Ron Reed's
play
Refuge of Lies in Fairfield, CT with Joanne Gleason, Keir
Dullea, and Mia Dillon. Mark would like to thank Billy for another
fantastic opportunity, and Dave, Carl, and Robert for their
tireless support of this production. Sean, what can I say? You're
the man! Mark would like to dedicate this performance to his
wife Bridget. I LOVE YOU!
BENJAMIN HOLMES is extremely pleased to have the chance to
shout his lines over helicopter noise for the second summer in a
row. For those of you wondering where you've seen a mustache
that spectacular before, Benjamin would like to point out that he
has appeared locally in the last two productions of
A Christmas
Carol
(both times as Ebenezer Scrooge), last year's inaugural
production of
Bartholomew Fair, NJ (in the same roles, no less),
All in the Timing (Bill, Don), and Urinetown, the musical (Senator
Fipp), so one of those may be the source of your recollection. He
has been in a great number of other things, but you don't care
about them because you're an up-to-date, happening individual
who lives in the here and now, not the there and then. Suffice it
to say, the things you don't know about Benjamin's oeuvre won't
hurt you. Benjamin dedicates his performance to E.E.H., who
would probably be a little skeptical of Chester's wardrobe. He
hopes you are moved by Juicy Fruit.
COURTNEY KOCHUBA is beside herself with excitement to jump
back into the fanciful world of
Bartholomew Fair, NJ! She had 'the

University (B.A. Creative Writing), Courtney has also appeared in
productions by 13th Street Repertory Company, Pittsburgh
Musical Theater, Rauh Conservatory Theater Company and
Scotch'n'Soda Theatre. As always, she gives endless thanks and
love to her Lorelai, Choochie, mwj and the most amazing friends
for which a gal could ask.

You

year. She loves to bake and do yoga and she lives in Hoboken
